Every massage below is given by one of our professional therapists. The difference is the technique and the pressure. Read about each one, then book the one that suits you, or ask us to help you choose.
Kerala Massage
A traditional Kerala-style oil massage. Your therapist applies massage oil generously and works it in with long, rhythmic strokes at a steady, unhurried pace, adjusting the pressure to suit you. At Lavella it's a relaxation massage in the Kerala style.
Good for
- Guests who like a traditional, oil-based massage
- Unwinding after a long working week
- A slow, steady massage rather than a firm one
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage uses slower, firmer strokes to work into the deeper layers of muscle. Your therapist uses the hands, thumbs and forearms, working slowly and steadily, usually through the back, neck and shoulders. It can feel intense in places but shouldn't be painful, so tell your therapist if you'd like less pressure.
Good for
- Stiffness from long hours at a desk or behind the wheel
- Tight muscles after gym training or sport
- Guests who prefer firm pressure
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a gentle massage that uses long, gliding strokes, kneading and circular movements, with light tapping and vibration. It's one of the most widely practised massage styles, and a good choice if it's your first massage.
Good for
- First-time visitors
- A calm reset after a busy week
- Guests who prefer gentler pressure
Aromatherapy Massage
A gentle massage using essential oils blended into a carrier oil, so the scent stays with you through the session. Please tell us before you start if you have sensitive skin, allergies or asthma, or if you're pregnant, so we can adjust the oils or suggest another massage.
Good for
- Unwinding after a stressful day
- Guests who prefer gentle pressure
- Anyone who enjoys a light scent
Hot Stone Massage
Smooth stones, usually basalt because it holds heat well, are warmed in water and placed on points along your back. Your therapist also holds the warm stones while giving massage strokes. The warmth lets the massage go deeper with less pressure. Tell your therapist straight away if a stone feels too warm.
Good for
- A stiff back and shoulders
- Guests who like warmth
- A slower, very relaxing session
Oil Massage
A classic relaxation massage using massage oil. Oil gives the smoothest glide, which suits long, sweeping strokes, and your therapist adjusts the pressure to what you prefer.
Good for
- General relaxation
- First-time visitors
- A regular monthly massage
Cream Massage
Cream massage uses a massage cream instead of oil. Cream is thicker than oil, so it gives a little more grip for slower, more focused strokes, and it absorbs into the skin, so there's no oily feeling afterwards.
Good for
- Guests who don't like an oily feel
- A lunch-break or after-work session
- Slower, more focused work on tight areas

Massage questions
How much is a massage?
Every massage is ₹1,500 for a 1-hour session, whichever one you choose. You can pay by cash or UPI.
Which massage suits a stiff back and shoulders?
Many guests with tight shoulders from desk work, driving or the gym choose deep tissue or hot stone. If you prefer gentler pressure, try Swedish or oil massage. Your therapist adjusts the pressure to you.
Can I ask for lighter or firmer pressure?
Yes. Tell your therapist before you start, and at any time during the session.
What is the difference between oil and cream massage?
Oil gives the smoothest glide, for long, sweeping strokes. Cream is thicker, gives a little more grip, and absorbs into the skin, so there's no oily feeling afterwards.
Do I need to book, or can I walk in?
